Church of Ypapanti

An elegant church surrounded by water is located in a beautiful bay with shallow waters, ideal for anchoring. The temple was built by a descendant of an aristocratic family from the island of Crete, named Daniel Kobitsi, who came to the island of Corfu during the Ottoman occupation of Crete. After the church came into the possession of the Theotokis and Scarpa families, it remained neglected until 1996, when restoration work began. Located in a picturesque place, this temple is an important historical monument that attracts the attention of tourists and pilgrims.
