Kartal Cemevi Public Foundation

Kartal Cemevi is a sacred place for Alevi Muslims located in the Kartal district of Istanbul. The Kartal Cemevi Foundation was established under the name "Kartal Cemevi Culture, Education and Social Assistance Association" in 1993. The land for the construction of the Cemevi was provided by the Mayor of Kartal, Mehmet Ali Büklü, at the request of local residents who wished to have a place for prayer and community.
