Sarıhan Building

Sarıhan Caravanserai, located on the Aksaray-Kayseri route in Nevşehir, played an important role in connecting East and West along the Silk Road. Built in 1249 during the time of Izzettin Keykavus, this caravanserai covers an area of 2000 m2 and was constructed from tuff, which is widely found in the Cappadocia region. In 1991, the inn was restored and rebuilt to its original form after its upper parts had been demolished. Sarıhan has been registered as one of the last examples of Seljuk Sultanate caravanserai after Han.
