Surp Khach Armenian Church

This church, originally known as Surp Nshan, was built by Patriarch Kagizmanly Zakaria II and Choban Amir. In 1798, it was consecrated by Bishop Hovhannes of Istanbul and opened for worship. The construction costs were covered by the personal funds of Patriarch Zakaria the Second, who allocated funds from his savings. In 1780, the wife of Bedros Amir installed a fountain near the main entrance of the church.
