Ukim'erioni Fortress

Ukim'erioni Fortress is a historical structure that played an important role in the defense of the Kingdom of Egrisi. The first mentions of it are found in sources from the 6th century. Located along the Tskhenistskali gorge on the highway connecting Mukhuri with Lechkhumi and Svaneti, the fortress is considered a key defense point. It is assumed that the ruins of the fortress on the right bank of the Tskhenistskali River are located precisely in Ukim'erioni.
