Aydos Fortress. Aydos Castle, also known as Goat Castle, is located on a hill in the Sultanbeyli district of Istanbul province, Turkey. This castle has been declared a first-degree archaeological site along with its surroundings. It was built during the Eastern Roman Empire, approximately in the 11th-12th centuries. It is believed that the castle was rebuilt in the 16th century. The original name of the castle, "Etos" (Αετός) in Greek means "eagle", and this name has survived with minor changes to this day.
