Cape Drastis

Cape Drastis rises beyond the village of Peroulades in northwestern Corfu and resembles a giant turtle surrounded by smaller rock 'turtles.' Tiny sandy beaches with shallow water hide among the unusual formations, though swimming can be unsafe because of strong winds. The Byzantines valued the cape's strategic location, and the Venetians later built fortifications there. Viewpoints offer dramatic vistas of sea and cliffs. Visitors can hike through the forest from Sidari, arrive by boat, or drive to the parking area, but the descent toward the water requires care because the cliffs are nearly vertical.

A journey to Cape Drastis can feel like a shipwreck, with only sea and rock in sight. Soft golden sand and transparent water lead toward hidden sea caves. Nearby lies Porto Timoni, two small beaches separated by a narrow strip of land, with pebbles, greenery, and turquoise water ideal for swimming and relaxation.
