Cathedral and Churches of Etchmiadzin

The Cathedral and Churches of Etchmiadzin, together with the archaeological site of Zvartnots, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. These ancient Christian sanctuaries are of exceptional cultural importance to the Armenian people and attract pilgrims and visitors from around the world. The remains at Zvartnots also provide valuable evidence for the study of Armenia’s ancient civilisation and architectural history.
