Church of the Most Holy Mother of God. The Church of the Most Holy Mother of God (Սուրբ Աստվածածին Եկեղեցի) is a historic church built in 1767 in Vagharshapat, Armenia. It was erected during the tenure of Catholicos Simeon I of Yerevan on the site of a ruined 16th-century wooden church. Standing in the centre of modern Vagharshapat about 200 metres north of the walls of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, it is an important historic landmark of the city.
