Mausoleum of Sheikh Junayd

The Mausoleum of Sheikh Junayd is a historical structure located in the village of Khazra, Gusar region of Azerbaijan. It was built in memory of Sheikh Junayd of Ardabil, who died in battle with the troops of Shirvanshah Khalil-ullah I in 1460. After his remains were reburied in Ardabil by order of Shah Tahmasp I, the mausoleum was erected in this place. There is an inscription on the facade of the monument indicating the date 1544. This mausoleum is an important historical site associated with the life and activities of Sheikh Junayd and his descendants.
