Olymp Cable Car

The Olymp cable car in Gelendzhik climbs 1,150 metres to the Markotkh Ridge. The journey offers panoramic views of the Caucasus, the Black Sea and Gelendzhik Bay. A ticket includes both ascent and descent as well as attractions at the summit, including a Ferris wheel, petting zoo, exotarium and aquarium.

The name Olymp refers to the mountain home of the gods in Greek mythology, making the ascent symbolic of rising toward a divine summit. The park also has local legends: one concerns a priest healed near the future Worship Cross, making the place sacred; another surrounds the “stone of love” in the Valley of Silence. Couples are told to touch its sunny side and make a wish together for it to come true.
