Saint Mary Church. Saint Mary Church, known in Armenian as Surp Astvatsatsin, stands close to the main road through the village of Karbi in Armenia’s Aragatsotn Province. The basilica was built between 1691 and 1693, while its bell tower dates from 1338. Today, the church is one of Armenia’s historically significant monuments and attracts tourists and pilgrims.
