Spitakavor Church. Spitakavor Church—its Armenian name meaning “the whitish church”—is a partly ruined 13th-century Armenian church on the edge of a gorge in Ashtarak, Aragatsotn Province. It can be seen from Surb Sargis Church, though the easiest route follows the streets of the surrounding neighborhood. Nearby, only a few houses away along the gorge, stands another church also known as Spitakavor, dating from the 5th–6th centuries.
