Tekturmas Mausoleum

The Tekturmas Mausoleum, also known as Tekhturmas Kumbez, is a unique architectural monument of the 14th-15th centuries, located on the southeastern outskirts of the city of Taraz on the right bank of the Talas River. This mausoleum is situated on top of Tekturmas hill, and its builder and architect remain unknown to this day. Local residents believe that the mausoleum was created as the burial place of the saint (aulie) Sultan-Mahmud-khan, which gives it special sanctity and significance in the eyes of the local population.
