Church of Saint George

Surb Gevorg Church is an old Armenian-style building in Yerevan’s historic Noragavit district. More than ten churches once stood in the area, but Surb Gevorg is the only one to survive. Its design resembles Yerevan’s well-known Zoravor Church. The building is a three-aisled, dome-less basilica with a fine vaulted western vestibule and a bell tower supported by twelve columns. The prayer hall can be entered from both the vestibule and the southern façade.
