Church of St. Irene in Istanbul

The Church of Hagia Irene, also known as Aya Irini, was built in the 6th century in the historical center of Istanbul. It is dedicated not to Saint Irene, but to "Holy Peace." Located in the first courtyard of Topkapi Palace in the Sultanahmet district, the church is a typical cross-shaped basilica. It is one of the oldest churches in Constantinople that has survived to this day.
