Divanyolu Fountain

The Divanyolu Fountain was built during World War II in the Kumkapi district of Istanbul. This small fountain, designed in an empirical style, was created in front of the tomb of Mahmut. It is part of a complex that was opened on November 11, 1840, and includes the tomb of Mahmut and other related structures. The fountain is approximately 2.5 meters high and has a base in the shape of a square prism with edges extending 20 cm from it. Its height is supported by two struts, and the upper part consists of a sphere of a certain diameter. The fountain is separated from the complex walls by a small space, and a tap is installed on its facade facing Divanyolu Street. Unlike other fountains built in the 17th century, this fountain does not have excessive decorations.
