Historical settlement of Vani

Vani (Georgian: ვანი) is a cozy town in the Imereti region, located in the western part of Georgia. It was granted city status in 1981 and has a population of about 3744 residents as of 2014. Located just 19 km from the Samtredia railway hub, Vani is an important transportation node in the region.

The village of Vani was renamed an urban-type settlement on October 16, 1961. The city has a developed food industry and a sewing factory, which contributes to the economic development of the area.

In the vicinity of the settlement, the remains of an ancient city dating back to the first millennium BC have been discovered.
