Hnevank Monastery. Hnevank Monastery (Armenian: Հնեվանք) is a historic complex near the village of Kurtan in Armenia’s Lori Province. It stands on the right bank of the Dzoraget River, about 40 kilometres from Stepanavan. Originally built in the 7th century, the monastery was reconstructed in the 12th century in an Armenian-Chalcedonian architectural style. Restoration work is under way to preserve the site for future generations.
