Holy Spirit Cathedral

The Holy Spirit Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral of Saint Esprit, is located at Cumhuriyet Avenue 127/A, in the Pangalti neighborhood of the Sisli district, formerly Harbiye, between Taksim Square and Nisantasi. This Catholic cathedral, built in the 19th century, is one of the most important churches in Istanbul, Turkey. It is situated behind the walls of the French high school Notre Dame de Sion. Walking from Taksim towards Harbiye, one can see a door with iron bars leading to the school's courtyard, behind which stands a statue of Benedict XV. Beyond this door lies the magnificent cathedral, which impresses with its architecture and history.
