Jewish Synagogue

The Jewish Synagogue on the island of Corfu was the center of life for the Jewish community that had lived here for centuries. But during World War II, the Nazis destroyed this peaceful place and killed many Jews. Today, a memorial stands on the site of the synagogue, dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust victims. The synagogue building, located near the sea, is surrounded by restaurants, which is reminiscent of the rich history of this place. The Star of David symbol can be seen on the doors and in front of the building, helping to identify this sacred place. Inside the synagogue is the prayer hall, where Jews gathered for worship and fellowship.
