Monument to Fyodor Ushakov

Approximately a year before the memorial was opened, the national hero was canonized by the Orthodox Church, and among believers, he began to be called the righteous warrior Theodore. His feats and pious life served as an example for many believers, and his memory is revered as particularly holy.

At the opening of the monument, Vladyka Versanofiy, Archbishop of Mordovia and Saransk, performed a solemn prayer service, blessing the memorial and all those present. This event was important for the Orthodox community and strengthened faith in the hero's sanctity.

Since then, every year a warship docks on the shores of Corfu to lay commemorative wreaths at the monument as a sign of respect and reverence for the memory of the righteous warrior Theodore. This ritual has become a tradition and a symbol of gratitude for his feats and faith.
