Kınalıada Waterfront

Kınalıada, also known as Proti, is the fourth largest island among the Prince Islands in the Sea of Marmara near Istanbul. The island's population is 3,318 people (as of 2000). Officially, it belongs to the Adalar district of Istanbul.

Kınalıada is the closest island to Istanbul in the Prince Islands archipelago. The distance to the port is 6.5 km, and to the Anatolian part of Istanbul - 3.5 km. The island's soil has a reddish color due to the iron and copper content that was mined here. It is because of this that the island got its Turkish name "Kınalıada", which translates to "Henna Island". Kınalıada is one of the least densely forested islands of the Prince Islands.
