Mausoleums in the village of Kalakhana

The mausoleums in the village of Kalakhana are a unique memorial complex built in the 17th century, located south of the city of Shamakhi in Azerbaijan. The complex features 8 octagonal stone mausoleums, each adorned with a pyramidal tent roof. In the past, all mausoleums were surrounded by stone walls with a portal, creating a majestic architectural composition. One of the mausoleums was built by a master named Abdul Azim in 1663/64, as indicated on the wall of this structure.

Initially, 9 mausoleums were located on a territory of approximately 250 by 150 meters. However, today only 7 of them remain in good condition, while one mausoleum is in a semi-ruined state. This complex is an important historical site, attracting the attention of tourists and researchers wishing to learn more about the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
