Monument to Andrei Sakharov

The Monument to Andrei Sakharov was installed in 2001 in central Yerevan, on Sakharov Square near Nalbandyan Street. It is listed among the immovable historical and cultural monuments of the Kentron district. Dedicated to the distinguished scientist and human-rights advocate, whose ideas and work had a major influence on society, the monument has become a symbol of freedom and democracy—values of particular importance to the Armenian people.
