Park named after the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen

A city park in the Medeu district of Almaty, covering an area of about 18 hectares and bounded by Kunaev, Gogol, Zenkov, and Kazybek Bi streets. It was founded in 1872 by gardener V. Kreshtopenko under the name City Garden. The park features various tree species such as elm, oak, linden, aspen, maple, poplar, pine, and spruce. Together with the surrounding buildings, the park creates a picturesque ensemble of the city. It is a monument of history, architecture, and garden art, included in the Almaty State Historical-Architectural and Memorial Reserve by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 1182 dated November 25, 1993.
