Pitareti Monastery

Pitareti Monastery is an ancient male monastery founded in the 13th century in the picturesque village of Pitareti, located in the Tetritskaro municipality in the Kvemo-Kartli region of Georgia. It is part of the Bolnisi Eparchy of the Georgian Orthodox Church. The monastery is located in eastern Georgia, in the gorge of the Krami River, near the deserted village of Pitareti, just 12 km southwest of the town of Tetritskaro and 100 km from the capital Tbilisi. The monastery housed an ancient 17th-century Gospel, which was rewritten by the famous monk Bedismtserlishvili.
