Dmanisi Cathedral of the Mother of God

The Dmanisi Cathedral of the Mother of God, also known as Dmanisi Sioni, is an early medieval basilica located in the center of the Dmanisi historical site in southern Georgia. This monument was destroyed in the Middle Ages, but its church still stands on a cape where the Mashavera and Pinezauri rivers meet. The church has a three-story nave, a prominent apse, and a richly decorated narthex that was added in the 13th century. Dmanisi Sioni is an active church that was restored in 2009 and included in the list of national cultural monuments of Georgia.
