Prison at Sinop Fortress

The Sinop Fortress Prison, also known as Sinop Kale Cezaevi, was built in 1887 inside the Sinop Fortress in Turkey. It is one of the oldest prisons in the country, located within a centuries-old fortification on the northwestern part of the Sinop cape. In 1997, the prison was closed, and the inmates were transferred to a new modern prison built in Sinop. Today, the old prison has been converted into a museum where various cultural events are held.
