TCG Gayret Museum. USS Eversole (DD-789) was a Gearing-class destroyer of the United States Navy, named after Lieutenant (junior grade) John T. Eversole (1915–1942), a naval aviator who was killed in the Battle of Midway. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1995, she was transferred to the Turkish Navy as TCG Gayret (D-352).
