Alexander Tamanyan Monument

Alexander Tamanyan (1878–1936) was an outstanding architect and urban planner whose ideas continue to shape Yerevan. Working across the transition from the 19th to the 20th century, he made a major contribution to architecture, particularly in Armenia. Tamanyan was an academician of architecture at the Imperial Academy of Arts and later People’s Architect of the Armenian SSR. His distinctive work remains influential among contemporary architects.
