Yervand Kochar Museum

The Yervand Kochar Museum is a cultural institution at 39/12 Mesrop Mashtots Avenue in central Yerevan and one of the city’s principal centres of avant-garde art.

Its collection presents works by the renowned Armenian artist and monumental sculptor Yervand Kochar (1899–1979) from the Tbilisi, Paris and Yerevan periods of his career. Of particular interest are pieces from his Spatial Painting series.

The museum also preserves rare documents and archival materials concerning Kochar’s relationships with other avant-garde artists. It hosts lectures, presentations, concerts and exhibitions, and offers guided tours in Armenian, Russian, English, German and French.
