Baghaberd Fortress. Baghaberd, also known as Kapani Berd, is the ruined remains of a historic fortress in Armenia’s Syunik Province. It lies between Kapan and Kajaran, near the picturesque village of David Bek and the confluence of the Geghi and Voghji rivers. Built about 200 meters above the river, the fortress has a long history connected with the defense of the region and major events of Armenia’s past.
