Balaban Ağa Mosque

The mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, was built on the site of a former Byzantine building, although the exact purpose of this building during the Byzantine era remains unclear. In 1930, the small building was demolished to make way for a new road, and it was only a minor example of early Byzantine architecture in Constantinople.
