Mausoleum of Şehzade Mahmud. The Şehzade Mosque, also known as Şehzadebaşı or Şehzade Mehmet Cami, was built in the Şehzadebaşı neighborhood of the Fatih district in the European part of Istanbul. This mosque was constructed by the architect Sinan between 1543 and 1548, following the death of Prince Şehzade Mehmed, son of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. The magnificent design and architecture of this mosque make it one of the significant historical monuments in Istanbul.
