Kalenderhane Mosque. The Church of the Virgin Kyriotissa was built in Constantinople on the site of Roman baths and two temples of the 6th-7th centuries at the end of the Komnenos dynasty. Sultan Mehmed II, who captured Constantinople, handed the church over to the dervishes, who managed it until the 18th century. During this time, it was converted into the Kalenderhane Mosque.
