Beyazit Mosque. Bayezid Mosque, also known as Beyazit, is one of the largest mosques in Istanbul, adorned with two minarets. It was built by the order of Sultan Bayezid II between 1500 and 1506 and is located in the old part of the city on Beyazit Square. Near the mosque are the gates of the Grand Bazaar and the main gates of Istanbul University.
