Museum of Calligraphy

The Museum of Turkish Calligraphy Art, also known as the Museum of Turkish Calligraphic Art, is located in Beyazıt Square in the Fatih district of Istanbul, Turkey. This unique museum is housed in an ancient madrasa built in the early 16th century and is one of the most significant places for studying Islamic calligraphy.

The museum was opened in 1968 as the "Museum of Writing" in the Yavuz Selim complex, and then in 1984 it was moved to its current location and renamed the "Museum of Turkish Calligraphy Art." Its collection boasts over 3121 works, most of which are examples of Islamic calligraphic art, reflecting the richness and diversity of this ancient artistic tradition.
