Church of St. David

The Church of St. David is a historic temple of the Georgian Orthodox Church, located on Mount Mtatsminda in Tbilisi. This sacred temple has a rich history, existing in this place long before the 19th century. In 1809, with the blessing of Catholicos Anton II, the old church built by Gabashvili was demolished, and a new church was erected in its place.

The temple has a height of 25.7 meters, a length of 17.2 meters, and a width of 10.7 meters. The temple can accommodate up to 400 people, including the choir. Since 1929, the church also has a necropolis, which was declared the "Mtatsminda" Pantheon. Here lie prominent figures of Georgia - famous writers, artists, scientists, and national heroes, making this place even more significant for the Georgian people.
