Church of Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina. The Church of St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina is an Orthodox church located in Tbilisi at 9 Shio Chitaidze Street. The main altar of this church is consecrated in honor of St. Equal-to-the-Apostles Nina, who was the enlightener of Georgia. This temple was built next to a women's institute, which was founded on the initiative of E. Vorontsova, the wife of the Novorossiysk Governor-General, around 1850. During the Soviet era, the church was closed, but divine services were resumed on May 26, 1999.
