Dadiani Palace

Dadiani Palace is the historical residence of the Mingrelian rulers from the Dadiani family, located in the Georgian city of Zugdidi. The museum was founded on the initiative of the ruler of Mingrelia, David Dadiani, in 1849, based on items from the ruler's treasury and artifacts of Georgian history. Currently, the museum houses up to 41,000 exhibits representing unique samples of Georgian culture. Surrounding the palace is the vast Zugdidi Botanical Garden, created through the efforts of Salome's mother, Ekaterine Aleksandrovna Chavchavadze-Dadiani, Nina Griboyedova's sister, and gardeners attracted from Europe. The garden covers an area of 26.4 hectares and is a beautiful addition to the historical complex of Dadiani Palace.
