Küçükçekmece Bridge

The historic bridge in the Küçükçekmece district was built by the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I of stone in 558. Later, under Basileus I, the bridge was completely rebuilt. In different periods, the bridge suffered damage due to earthquakes and invasions. In 1735 and 1861, the bridge was repaired, and also widened during World War II. In 1996, IMM carried out another restoration of the bridge. The length of the historic Mimar Sinan bridge is about 227 meters, and the width is about 7 meters.
