Kakavaberd Fortress. Kakavaberd, also known as Geghi Berd or Kegi Berd, is an ancient fortress on a mountain ridge overlooking the Azat River gorge in the Khosrov Forest State Reserve in Armenia’s Ararat Province. Standing at 1,516 metres above sea level, it is one of the country’s highest fortresses.
