Little Blachernae Palace. The New, or Little Blachernae Palace, is a three-story building that was constructed in the Blachernae district at the beginning of the Palaiologos dynasty's rule. It is believed to have been erected in the late 13th century and is associated with the name of Constantine Palaiologos, son of Emperor Michael VIII Palaiologos. Some sources mistakenly associate this palace with the name of Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus, who reigned from 913 to 920. It is possible that elements of older structures...
