Chora Church

The Church of Christ the Savior in Chora, also known as the Chora Church, is part of the Chora Monastery complex and is one of the best-preserved Byzantine churches in Istanbul, formerly Constantinople. In 1511, the church was converted into a mosque, and from 1948 to 2020, it functioned as the Kariye Museum. In 2020, it was again converted into a mosque. The Church of Christ the Savior in Chora is on the list of Istanbul's World Heritage sites and is a significant historical landmark for the city.
