Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif Museum

This historic building is the summer residence of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Located in the Jumeirah 2 suburb of Dubai, this majlis is an important cultural heritage site.

Built in 1955, the majlis was named after the pearl trade, which was widespread at the time. It used to be located on a date palm plantation, near a fishing village, away from the city of Dubai. The building was constructed from a mixture of mud brick, gypsum, coral, and wood, which gave it a special character.

A terrace was built on the roof of the majlis, which was used as a place for drying dates and as a cozy place for outdoor relaxation. This building is not only a historical monument but also an important symbol of Dubai's cultural heritage.
