Monument to Zhusupbek Elebekov

Zhusupbek Elebekov was born on August 28, 1904, in the village of Yegindybulak, which was part of the Russian Empire; currently, it is the Karkaraly District in the Karaganda Region of Kazakhstan. He was known as a talented Kazakh singer with a high tenor voice. Elebekov was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Kazakh SSR in 1942 and became a laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR in 1968. He passed away on August 12, 1977, in Alma-Ata, the capital of the Kazakh SSR, which is now part of modern Kazakhstan.
