Palace of the Republic

A building in Almaty, originally conceived as a venue for concerts, festivals, and other cultural events, has become one of the main venues for the "Eurasia" Film Festival. Next to the fountains on Abay Square, in front of the Palace, and the monument to the Kazakh poet Abai Kunanbayev, the Palace of the Republic has become one of the city's main attractions. This building was constructed during the rule of Dinmukhamed Kunaev and is located at the intersection of Dostyk Avenue and Abay Avenue. The Palace of the Republic is a monument of urban planning and architecture, included in the register of historical and cultural monuments by the decision of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR of January 26, 1982, under number 38.
