Victory Park

Victory Park in Yerevan, also known as Haghtanak or Matzin, is located in the northern Kanaker-Zeytun district. The park was originally allocated 48 hectares of woodland, but by the early 21st century only 33 hectares remained under the management of the company responsible for its maintenance. Other sections have been leased out. During the 1990s, part of the forest was cut for fuel, while another portion was transferred by the city authorities for the construction of luxury housing.
