Zayzid Temple

The Zayzid Temple, a 10th-11th century church located in the village of Sredniy Zayzid in the Shaki region, is an important historical and architectural monument of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This building was registered by the Ministry of Culture as a site of local significance. Unlike other temples, the Zayzid church features a cruciform plan for its eastern branch. The semi-circular apse on the eastern arm adorns the temple. The corners of the cross intersection are decorated with pilasters with rectangular capitals. The circular belt, supported by hanging semi-circular arches, previously adorned the church's drum and dome, which, unfortunately, have not survived to this day.
